Deception in the End Times: How to Keep from Being Deceived

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:3-5).

Jesus was asked some very important questions by his disciples and among them was, “What shall be the sign of his coming and the end of the world?” From His answer we can deduce that the most important sign of his coming is a warning that deception will be prevalent in the earth and especially religious deception and that we, as Christians, must be on guard that we are not deceived by other men. Deception in the End Times: Danger of Being Deceived by Men

In Matthew 24, Jesus responded to the questions that the disciples asked of Him pertaining to “what would be the sign of his coming and the end of the world” with a warning that deception would be prevalent in the earth, especially religious deception.  His words warned us of the danger of being deceived by men. This being the case, we need to understand what to look for and also we should be aware of how we can be deceived.

Deception in the End Times: Revelation and End Times Interpretations

There are many different interpretations regarding the End Times spoken of in the Bible. The book of Revelation is an important book regarding the future, but one must have the proper biblical method of interpretation and a relationship with Christ in order to understand it.

Decoding the Book of Revelation

Revelation is a coded book. It was written for Christians so that only they could understand it and those that were not in the faith would not be able to understand it. When John, the apostle, penned this revelation of Jesus Christ, the Christians of that day were under great persecution and therefore their lives could have been more endangered by what John wrote, therefore much of the book is written in symbolic language. Those who do not have the Holy Spirit are bewildered by the imagery in this book of the Bible. Even as Christians we have difficulty when approaching Revelation.
