Biblically, we need to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16.) So liberal and conservative thought are both needed and it needs to be applied to all things, not just politics. It is constructive to embrace both thought approaches to solve problems. But when positions become dogmatic and totally unyielding, they become destructive to all.
Liberal thought is good when it is applied correctly and conservative thought is good when it is applied correctly. Moderation is also esteemed in the Bible. But the highest thought is God’s Wisdom! This means applying Biblical thought to everything in our lives.
Philippians 4:5 “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”
If we apply God’s Wisdom, we will encompass both liberal and conservative thought properly and be able to solve our problems. In the realm of politics, the result will allow both conservative and liberal parties to work together in harmony for the good of the nation. Biblical thought always brings healing. However, for those who are willing, it will also bring change and the biggest change needs to be the attitude of our hearts and conforming our way to the ways of God and that means we must repent and ask God to forgive us and change us individually and then He will begin to change our nation corporately.
1 Corinthians 1:24 “But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the Wisdom of God.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
