Organic Gardening and Eating According to the Word of God

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat” (Genesis 1:29).

“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed” (Genesis 2:8).

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat” (Genesis 2:15-16).

God not only is our creator, but He was also the first gardener since He was the one who planted the Garden of Eden according to the verses above. Then, he told Adam and Eve to take care of it and also told them in the Bible what they were to eat and what they were not to eat. Fruits, vegetables, herbs, and nuts and grains were among the first foods he told them would be their “meat” which meant their “food” (see Genesis 1:29 Amplified).  After the fall of man, God then added certain “clean” animal meats that were permissible to the list of edible foods, but these were not in the original list. (See Chapter 11 of Leviticus for a list of “clean” and “unclean” meats.)

Organic gardening and eating healthy are the topics of many health food articles today. Those who are seeking to lose weight and feel better are now discovering there is a way to eat that will bring strength and healing to their bodies by consuming more fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts. Many are not aware that the Bible endorses this kind of eating. We are not strictly vegetarians, but we eat more fruits and veggies than we do a meat diet. Jesus cooked, fed and ate fish in the New Testament, so he was not a vegetarian either.

As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise” (John 21:9-13).

Since God created our bodies, He certainly knows what should go into our mouths and it definitely is not the popular and unhealthy American diet that includes so much junk food and sugar laden drinks. The foods that so many are consuming today are not natural, but rather processed with additives, preservatives, dyes, herbicides, hormones, chemicals, etc. which are responsible for so many people becoming overweight and sick. As Christians, everything we do should be based on what the Bible instructs us to do, so we should be eating according to the Word of God.

Who Will be the Next President of the United States?

Pray for Our Nation and Vote for Our Leaders
Fall 2016

By Betty Miller

We have diligently been praying about the upcoming elections, that we, as a nation, will elect the right person who will hold the office of the president of the United States. We are also praying that we will elect good senators and representatives to rule over us, as well. We know all Christians, have been praying as well. Many believers are divided and confused about the choices before us. As Christians, we should care about character, the Supreme Court, and social issues like abortion and traditional marriage and also the future of our nation. Yet, the Lord has not made it easy this time for us to be at peace about our vote. There are no easy answers. The Bible says as long as we are in this earth, we see through a glass darkly, so we are faced with the choice between two flawed candidates for the presidency. Regardless of the outcome, we are committed to honoring and praying for whichever leaders get elected across the board because the Bible tells us we are to honor the offices of our leaders. The next president will face enormous challenges and problems and will need our support and prayers. We are admonished in the Word of God to pray for them, as God wants us to have leaders that will make decisions that will allow us to live quiet and peaceable lives in an environment of godliness and honesty according to the scripture below:

1 Timothy 2:1-5
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

What Will the Next President Do?

Months ago, I started praying about the presidential elections. I even asked the Lord to show me who the new president would be, as I know He has revealed the future to some of His prophets and people. I told the Lord I would like to know since I have had such a burden to pray about this matter. My burden came with a lot of weeping and crying over our nation and the upcoming elections and over the spirit of division that is in our land. I have an intercessory prayer burden and maybe I just have a Jeremiah anointing on me right now, as Jeremiah was known as “the weeping prophet.” Anyway, God did not reveal to me who the next president would be, but rather led me to a scripture in Jeremiah and began speaking to me about what the next president would do. Here was the scripture He spoke to my heart:

Jeremiah 1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”

Here is what He revealed to me about the correlation of this scripture and the office of the presidency of which either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will fill. We are going to have one of these people as our next president and one of them will be “set over the nations” for a very unusual purpose. (more…)

Burning the American Flag is an Act of Rebellion

Burning the American Flag is, at the least, an act of blatant rebellion against our government, and at the worst, could even be classified as anarchy.  In my opinion, as a Christian, the burning of the American Flag should be counted as an act of treason, as well as anarchy.  However, since treason has a death penalty attached to it, there could be a lesser punishment for it, but to me it definitely should be treated as a crime. When one burns our flag they are making the statement that they are against our country and everything it stands for.   At the present time, in the name of freedom of speech, our country has allowed people to do this.   However, I believe flag burning should be considered as a crime, because it is a statement of renouncing our country’s beliefs and laws. It is also an act of desecration against the sacrifices of the many men and women who gave their lives and spilled their blood to protect our freedoms for which that flag stands!  Now I believe in the rights and freedom of our populace to be able to oppose certain things, such as we have done in times past, like slavery; but, burning our flag to me is opposing our entire country’s belief system because the flag represents all we are as a nation. Even the words of our national anthem declare what we believe.  I believe in free speech, but free speech does have its limits and boundaries.   What are these boundaries?  They are the laws and beliefs that our nation has established since the founding fathers wrote out the constitution and defined what, we as a nation, would corporately believe and support.   It also includes the laws that we have passed in our nation’s capital that should be upheld.  When lawlessness is allowed anarchy follows.

When people defy our national laws there is also a penalty that goes with that defiance.  What has happened in our country, in many areas, is that we have good laws on the books, but we have not enforced them.   This is one reason we are having so many problems with illegal immigration.  The laws associated with immigration have been violated for years and the lawbreakers were not held accountable on both sides of this issue.  The illegal immigrant who was allowed to stay here and was given benefits of our legal citizens, along with the corporations and businesses who hired them for cheap labor, are both guilty of breaking the law. Guilty as well, are the legal authorities and agencies who allowed both parties to get by with doing this.   If businesses had not hired the illegals, there would be no jobs for them in this nation, so those people who did the hiring are guilty of not keeping the law, just as the immigrants are guilty of coming here illegally.  This has created enormous problems for all of our citizens.  The root problem is one of dishonesty and lawlessness, plus the irresponsibility of officials who failed to enforce our laws.  Motives on both sides were not right, but both were wrong. The Perfect Storm of End Time Events is Coming Soon

Are You Ready to Overcome These 12 End Time Events?

By Betty Miller

The Perfect Storm of End Time Events is rapidly lining up on the horizon. Are you ready? First, let me say at the beginning of this article, that I am not writing this article as a prophetess of God, but rather as a watchman on the wall sounding an alarm. What do I mean by this? I am like a reporter or a weatherman warning of a storm coming, because of the signs that are seen in the sky.

“And he (Jesus) said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?” Luke 12:54-56

A watchman on the wall is one, who in prayer, is watching and praying for people during these perilous times.

“If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”  Ezekiel 33:3-7

Below is a list of 12 events on the horizon that could trigger the unfolding of a Perfect Storm of End Time Events. (I have purposely not expounded on these subjects individually for brevity’s sake, but if you would like more about any of these subjects, I have linked to the detailed teachings on those subjects on our website and you can find information about the others on the Internet.) Any one of these events could trigger the domino effect that will set in motion events that cannot be stopped by any man and can only be survived through God’s intervention:

The Bible and Same Sex Marriage

What the Bible Says about Homosexuality: The Bible and Same Sex Marriage

Is Homosexuality a Sin?

By Betty Miller

What does the Bible say about same sex marriage and homosexuality? When the Supreme Court of the United States declared that same-sex marriage (a homosexual union) was a constitutional right in America, it was a shock to all Bible believing Christians. It was not only an assault against a foundational doctrine of the church worldwide, but it also placed the church in the USA in a position of how they are to react to this new law in a Christian manner. First of all, every Christian must always side with the Word of God when the subject of sin comes up and the Bible defines what constitutes sin. We must never violate our conscience on any matter.

Laws of the State v. Laws of God

Since the Bible states God created male and female and He is the One Who ordained marriage, then He alone has the right to define what a marriage is. Any court or government that rules differently is now opposing the Word of God. This ruling to God’s people is like the same ruling that permitted abortions in our nation back in 1973 when Roe V. Wade declared that states could not ban abortions because it was unconstitutional. Therefore, abortions became legal. However, just because certain things are legal by the government standards, it does not make them legal by God’s standards. We must now pray and work toward reversing the same sex marriage law, just as we are working to reverse the pro-abortion law. We are to be “salt” and “light” to the world so that our culture and society and nation can be blessed, instead of suffering the curses that come in the form of judgments on our nation. And they will surely come upon us because of our national sins and because the Word of God is clear that we reap what we sow.  The only way to avert judgment is to repent and turn from our sin and return to God.  God wants to use His people to bring about a revival in our nation and restore us to righteousness.

As Christians we are taught to obey the law of our governments, except when they go against the laws of God (Romans 13). When things are required of us that defile our conscience and our Bible beliefs, then we must be willing to stand for those beliefs and bear the consequences for refusing to yield to what the Bible calls sin. This is suffering for Christ. (more…)

Healing the Soul of Man

God wants us to be healed in the areas of our souls and bodies, as well as to be new creatures in the spirit. He wants us whole – spirit, soul and body. To receive healing of the soul, however, we must understand the soul and why it needs to be healed, restored, and renewed once we become “born again.” The Greek word psuche (pronounced “sue-kay”) is the word Bible writers used when talking about things of the outer man, which in English is called “the soul.” In the soul of man are the mind, the will, and the emotions. Our emotional patterns tend to formulate our personalities. For example,we can become angry, unforgiving, bitter, jealous, fearful, rejected, offended, etc. if we yield to our flesh. The soul, or personality, is formed through a person’s reactions to the information the mind takes in. The way each person chooses to react to the things he hears, the things that happen to him, and the things he chooses to receive as truth, causes each soul to become what he, or she, is. However, when a person is “born again,” he becomes a new creature, and the soul then must be renewed, or the person struggles by trying to communicate with and live in the world through an old-nature soul. We have to learn to resist the things of the flesh like anger, fear, jealousy, bitterness and allow the Holy Spirit empower us to walk in love, forgiveness, kindness, mercy, love faith, hope, and the fruit of the Spirit. Is “Once Saved, Always Saved” Biblical?

Coming from a background that taught eternal security to the degree that “once you are saved, you are always saved,” I am very well versed in all the Scripture that supports this view. However, when I came into the Spirit-filled walk, I began to study and read opposite views on this subject and came to embrace them. However, I could not find a peace in the extreme of needing to be saved again every time I sinned, as that certainly had no security in God’s keeping power. Both extremes cause problems in the body of Christ. Let us look to God’s Word and find the balance between these two extremes.

God does not want us to take our salvation lightly, nor does He want us to be constantly insecure with the fear of losing our salvation. Therefore, He gives us Scripture to prevent both of these extremes. (more…)

Sowing and Reaping

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Galatians 6:7-8).

Our choices each day determine our growth in the Lord. We can sow or plant things in our lives that will later bring us blessings; or just the opposite, we can sow seeds of selfishness and rebellion and we will reap things that are corrupt. We will either become more like Jesus by walking and obeying the Spirit of God, or we will become carnal Christians, displeasing to God, when we give in to carnal desires. Sowing to our flesh brings the death principle to our lives for Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” From this we can see why so many Christians are not enjoying their inheritance in God. They are refusing to “walk in the Spirit” and are reaping the things they are sowing in the flesh.

What does this mean and how do we “walk in the spirit?” This is working out our salvation and allowing the Holy Spirit to sanctify us. (more…)

Bridging the Generational Gap

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6, KJV).

The Bible talks about a time of tribulation and chaos right before the return of Christ to this earth; yet, He also promises us that He will send us the spirit of Elijah, the Old Testament prophet who performed miracles in his day. Satan has a plan to cause tremendous disunity and mistrust between the generations. This is already happening in the world in a greater measure than we have ever seen. Satan has come with his curse on our children. Nevertheless, Satan will ultimately fail, because the Lord has already ordained that a key movement in the end times will be one of restoration among the generations! God is going to anoint His overcoming people with a spirit of miracles that will touch the hearts of our children to return to God.

Take heart all of you praying parents, if your children have strayed from the Lord or, if they are in rebellion; the Bible says that the seed of the righteous shall be delivered and blessed. We, as parents, need to continue to stand for our children in faith and trust the Lord to turn their hearts back to us if we are estranged from them, or if they are walking in rebellion against us.

“Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered” (Proverbs 11:21).

“His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed” (Psalm 112:2).

Throughout the Word of God, the righteous declare that their purpose is to declare the glory of God to the next generation. (more…)

Guarding Our Hearts

“Keep {and} guard your heart with all vigilance {and} above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23 (AMP)).

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)).

This scripture reveals an important truth in regard to what kind of life we will live here on earth. It admonishes us to guard our hearts because whatever comes out of our heart (spirit) will determine the issues we will face in this life.

Trinity of God and of Man

Man is a triune being composed of spirit, soul and body. God wants us to be healed in every area of our being. However, the one area that ultimately rules all other areas is the area of our spirit, which is the heart of man. (more…)
